What you used

• Average speed = distance ÷ time: the cart covered 3.0 m in 6.0 s, so it averaged 3.0 ÷ 6.0 = 0.5 m/s. It sped up on the way down the ramp, so this is the average, not its top speed.
• Weight = mass × g: the spring scale reads force in newtons. With g = 10 N/kg, 20 N means 2 kg and 30 N means 3 kg.
• Levers and turning force (torque): a lever balances when force × distance is equal on both sides of the pivot. Weight = mass × 10 N/kg, so the 6 kg mass weighs 60 N: 60 N × 1.0 m = 60 N·m. The 2 kg weight (20 N) at 3.0 m gives 20 N × 3.0 m = 60 N·m, and the 3 kg weight (30 N) at 2.0 m gives 30 N × 2.0 m = 60 N·m, so either balances it.
• Ohm's law (V = I × R): to draw 2 A from a 12 V supply you need R = V ÷ I = 12 ÷ 2 = 6 Ω. Less resistance lets more current through (and blows the fuse); more resistance lets less through.
• Seeing light and reflection: a laser beam is invisible in clean air; you only see it when particles such as mist scatter light toward your eye. At a mirror, the angle in equals the angle out, so a mirror at 45° to the beam turns it by 90°.
• Series and parallel: two 6 Ω lamps in parallel make 3 Ω, so 12 V drives 4 A; in series one dead bulb blacks out both.
• Buoyancy: net lift = litres × 1 kg/L − own mass; the 5 L float (0.5 kg) lifts 4.5 kg.
• Momentum: 1 kg × 4 m/s = (1 + 1) kg × 2 m/s when the pods stick together.
• Sound waves: heaps 0.34 m apart mean λ = 0.68 m; f = 340 ÷ 0.68 = 500 Hz.
• Pulleys: 400 N shared by 4 strands needs only 100 N of pull.
• Gravitational potential energy (E = m × g × h): the station's spin ring makes 1 g, so g = 10 N/kg here, just as on Earth. lifting 10 kg to 2.0 m stores 10 × 10 × 2.0 = 200 J. Falling, the mass turns that energy into electricity in the generator.
